It's amazing to me that it was probably built before my 91-year-old grandpa was born, at the time of the very earliest recordings. I couldn't care less that it isn't in great condition it's a gem, and it's old, and I love it. Maybe some of you can tell by the photos. I believe it has a spruce top, from what I have read. There are a TON of scratches and a couple cracks that have been glued. I don't really know the price points for stuff like this. I doubt a guitar in this condition would go for more than a couple hundred dollars, if that. They had originally offered me a sub-average nylon string guitar that I had played and showed interest in, and by a random twist of fate, they ended up trading that one for this guitar, then gave it to me. I was given this guitar by a friend and her husband, absolutely free (an amazing gift, I tried several times to pay for it). I believe it was built sometime between 19 or so, but I am not sure. The brand is Lyon & Healy, built in Chicago (as you can see on the stamp in the photos).
